I have been training with Ulla in England and Germany for three years now – god only knows why she has put up with me for that long!!

The demand for accuracy and attention to detail remains the same now as the day I first met her.  In that time Webster a 10 year old Hanoverian by Weltgeist (Weltmeyer) and I have progressed from a combination that did not always agree on the same way forward into something starting to resemble an Advanced horse with true Grand Prix potential!!  We are aiming to do our first Int II later this year.

The framework of her techniques is without compromise and applies to all levels of horse and rider.  Perhaps of particular personal pleasure is the encouragement and delight we have shared in the improvement made by my other older horse (Irish x TB).  Whilst he is not a “big” moving horse the expression we have achieved with competition results to match has brought a big smile to my face!! Sadly injury late last year prevented us from doing our first Grand Prix, but fingers crossed for this year.

I am fortunate enough to have sponsorship from one of the companies that I have a contract with to assist me in my training costs.  My work is financially and administratively managing a group of companies that are mainly in property development and management, and being self-employed allows me the freedom that I need to combine the two very different life styles!

Part of my training with Ulla has involved travelling to Germany on a number of occasions now and the intensity and commitment made by both pupil and trainer really do produce results.  The atmosphere at Stall Salzgeber is professional yet very welcoming; I only wish the Germany winters were as hospitable!!

Ulla’s focus on rider control and more importantly rider error ensures a level of training that is kind, yet firm and ensures that you get the best from your horse.

She simply is a true master of this sport. It only remains to wish Ulla and Herzi a very successful year, although results are already speaking for themselves!!
